Industrial fire outbreak on Gulf of Mexico Rig

Mexican petroleum company Petroleos Mexicanos has reported a fire breakout on one of the platforms of its Processing Center. Although the inferno is under control, three staff have been reported injured and one deceased from the incidents.

The production site which is located in the in the Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico is making headlines as further revelations disclose an additional three workers Bufete de Monitoreo de Condiciones e Integridad company may have been missing too.According to Premex, the fire was reported to have started in the noon of August 22, 2021, at about 3pm local time. The company disclosed that its emergency protocol was immediately activated and monitoring exercise following the incident.O

n it’s official website, Pemex disclosed in an online statement that search for the missing staff still persists and assessment of assets and facilities to restore operational calm is still in motion.It added that the exercise will also be attended by an investigation to ascertain the cause of the inferno. Pemex expressed heartfelt condolences to family of the deceased and assured personnel their maximum support as well as their families.

On the wake of the incident, Secretary of Mexico’s Energy affairs, Rico Nahle, retweeted a statement from Pemex’s Twitter handle reassuring the public that the fire situation was under control and an inquiry would follow up the root of the incident In July, Bloomberg reporters had also covered a news report on a fire outbreak near Pemex’s Ku Maloob Zaap offshore platform complex after a submarine pipeline valve broke.On its website, Pemex is acclaimed the largest company in Mexico.
