The Bonga FPSO Of SNEPCo Completes Its 2022 Turnaround Maintenance

The Bonga floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO2022)’s Turnaround Maintenance (TAM) has been completed by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo).
On October 18, 2022, the FPSO with a 225,000 capacity was shut down to conduct required inspections, recertifications, and other crucial asset integrity restoration tasks.
Thanks to strong front-end planning and faultless execution, the 2022 TAM, which was initially scheduled to take 30 days, was finished in 22 days on November 9, 2022.
The ramping up of oil and gas production will take place in the next days after commissioning and startup procedures are complete.
Recall that SNEPCo reported that Turnaround Maintenance (TAM) was planned for its 200,000 barrels per day FPSO vessel in October.
The oil production facility was shut down for at least two weeks during a comparable maintenance in May 2020, however the corporation did not specify the length of the scheduled repair.
The oil company that made the announcement stated the maintenance will include statutory recertification and essential asset integrity activities in a statement by Mrs. Abimbola Essien-Nelson, its Media Relations Manager.
According to Mrs. Essien-Nelson, safety would be prioritized above all else throughout the offshore Bonga asset’s scheduled turnaround repair.
She cited the guarantee as having been given recently at a meeting with the chief executive officers of contractor businesses taking part in the Bonga TAM by SNEPCo’s Managing Director (MD), Elohor Aiboni.
The Bonga TAM is crucial to revitalizing this crucial national asset, according to the MD. But executing the turnaround safely is more crucial.
