NCDMB Restates Commitment to Implementing Oil, Gas Mandate

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has restated its dedication to the full implementation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act 2010.
During the 2023 Nigerian Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week in Abuja, Simbi Wabote, the Executive Secretary of the Board, emphasized the importance of the Act in driving the development and utilization of in-country capacities.
The NOG conference, held under the theme, “Nigerian Content Role in Achieving Energy Security,” serves as a valuable platform for providing industry practitioners with clarity, insights, tips, and guidance on the provisions of the NOGICD Act (2010).
Wabote highlighted various initiatives and tools introduced by the Board, such as the Nigerian Content Equipment Certificate (NCEC), the Nigerian Content Intervention Funds (NCIFund), and the Expatriate Quota, to facilitate understanding and compliance with the Act.
The panel sessions at the conference focused on key topics like the NCEC, NCIFund, and HCD Guidelines, aiming to provide information, address challenges, and offer guidance on resolving them effectively.
Wabote also took the opportunity to discuss the functions of the Board as outlined in Section 70 of the NOGICD Act, providing participants with a refresher and clearing misconceptions about the Board’s interventions.
He emphasized that the Board has undertaken various initiatives to support the development of local contractors and Nigerian companies, enhancing the achievement of Nigerian content goals in the oil and gas industry.
The successful implementation of these projects by the Board can be attributed to their prudent management practices, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
