PCNGI initiative Announces N100 billion investment for sustainable CNG Buses

In a major move towards lowering reliance on conventional fuel sources, the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi) announced on Wednesday that it will spend N100 billion to help with the statewide deployment of CNG buses.
By encouraging the use of autogas and electric vehicles, this programme seeks to transform public transit and transportation and make them more economical and ecologically beneficial.
The funds are meant to spark a revolutionary change in the public transportation industry towards the usage of autogas and electric vehicles as part of a palliative programme.
Over 11,500 CNG and electric vehicles will be used in the programme, and 55,000 conversion kits will be distributed. The ultimate objective is to ease the rising cost of living and lower Nigerians’ transit expenses.
“The plan includes leveraging over 11,500 CNG and electric fueled vehicles, as well as the deployment of 55,000 conversion kits to ultimately reduce the cost of transportation for Nigerians and alleviate the rising cost of living.”
Through the presentation of the PCNGi’s most recent accomplishments, the initiative reassured Nigerians that the programme is on track to meet these goals.
Several CNG conversion centres are currently being commissioned in important states around the nation, including Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Ogun, and Rivers, with many more to come in the coming weeks. These partnerships are technical and strategic.
The PCNGi’s dedication to lessening reliance on conventional fuel sources is consistent with larger initiatives to develop an ecologically responsible and sustainable future for Nigerian mass transit and mobility.
