APC’s Candidate wins Edo guber election

Monday Okpebholo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been named winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.
Results from 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Sunday evening shows Okpebholo polled 291,667 votes, followed closely by Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 247,655 votes.

Faruk Adamu, State returning officer, Federal University of Technology, Minna. Niger State for the Edo 2024 governorship election disclosed this at the collation centre in Benin City.
The breakdown of the results showed that APC won in 11 local governments while PDP triumphed in seven. It was reported that the governor-elect is a serving Senator representing Edo Central at the National Assembly.
