Calibration Gas
Calibration Gases come in cylindrical shaped bottles of different sizes and material types depending on the quantity and reactivity of the gas components. For example, reactive calibration gas mixtures are filled in Aluminium cylinders while non-reactive mixtures come in steel cylinders.

Calibration Gas, also known as Span Gas, is a gas mixture of specific gas components and respective volumes. Calibration is done by flowing a known mixture of gas into a monitoring system to verify that its readings are accurate and that the gas monitoring system is functioning properly especially in areas of confined space, underground utilities, chemical manufacturing areas, or petroleum and/or natural gas refineries in order to ensure that it is hazard free. It is therefore important to calibrate a gas monitoring system not only at the time of installation, but also checked regularly and re-calibrated when necessary.
