We are going to launch E-mobility and Gas Mobility Programme – Ogun State Governor

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun said that his government will begin converting mass transit buses from petroleum fuel to gas and motorbikes to electric in August.
Abiodun stated that the conversion project will begin in the first week of August.
The governor also stated that his government would take advantage of the recently enacted electricity bill that controls the power sector by establishing a corporation that would create and distribute power supplies in the Gateway state.
Abiodun stated this during a courtesy call in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, to participants of the Senior Executive Course 45, Group 1 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
He stated that his administration will prioritise public utilities such as water and energy delivery in its second term.
The governor also stated that the state intends to produce its own energy following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signing of the 2023 energy Bill into law on June 9, which authorises states, organisations, and individuals to generate, transfer, and distribute power.
Prof. Oluwafunmilayo Para-Mallam, the team leader and director of studies, stated previously that the participants are starting the study in accordance with the President’s directive to investigate current issues of national relevance.
She said that because Ogun State is the nation’s industrial hub, that is why it was chosen.
She said that several state natives who attended the Institute are now creating a name for themselves on the national and international stages.
The Institute’s Senior Executive Course 45 Group 1 is in the state for a one-week study tour.
